This series consists of drawing interventions applied to a wide range of pre-existing images—photographs, prints, and iconographic materials sourced from books, periodicals, personal archives, collections, albums, and other media spanning various time periods. The images primarily depict physical and architectural spaces, as well as broader environmental settings. Through the use of dark ink and gestural marks, these interventions evoke a sense of memorial weight—a visual residue that suggests both a record of something that has occurred and an idealized, perhaps imagined, reconstruction of it. In this way, the work materializes like a fictional archaeology of memory, recognizing that memory is often composed as much of invention as of fact—fragments that surface unexpectedly, waiting to be interpreted or validated.

This series holds a foundational place within my broader artistic practice. Its interplay between gesture, memory, and appropriation laid the conceptual and material groundwork for several later projects—including Barragens, Rivages, Arago, Colorings, and others. The tension between lived memory and fictional remembrance continues to inform the structure and meaning of these subsequent works.
